DEADLINE – EXCLUSIVE: Danny Ramirez is set to star in the pic Pursuit of Touch, which Ramirez also wrote with Slave Play creator Jeremy O. Harris producing. Ramirez, Niv Gafny and Tom Culliver will also produce through their Pinstripes banner as will Harris’ partner Josh Godfrey. They will produce through their bb² company. No director is attached yet.

Ramirez plays a reclusive Afghanistan War veteran who discovers his favorite cam girl is involved in a dangerous conspiracy and sets out to save her. What starts as a bizarre man-on-a-mission movie becomes a strangely moving tale of human connection in a digital world.

Ramirez recently wrapped production on Captain America: Brave New World and HBO’s The Last of Us. He will next be seen leading Todd Haynes’ next movie. His recent works include the dark comedy Winner, the critically acclaimed Top Gun: Maverick, and Black Mirror: Mazey Day.

Harris is best known for his acclaimed for his groundbreaking play Slave Play. Harris has been nominated for two 2023 Tony Awards for producing The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window and Ain’t No Mo’. His play Daddy premiered Off-Broadway with Alan Cumming at the New Group and then at London’s Almeida Theatre with Claes Bang before premiering at Tokyo’s Globe Theatre.

In 2023, in collaboration with Gucci and Monteverdi, he started the Substratum residency, where he mentored five young writers for a month. Harris co-wrote A24’s critically acclaimed Zola alongside director Janicza Bravo. His documentary feature debut Slave Play. Not A Movie. A Play. had its US premiere on HBO.

Godfrey, co-founder of bb² alongside Jeremy O Harris and his producing credits include Academy Award winner Manchester By The Sea, Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria, Topside which won SXSW Best Directing Prize and the upcoming film Caddo Lake starring Dylan O’Brien and Eliza Scanlen.

Culliver recently executive produced award-winning In the Summers and upcoming Anna Nicole Smith biopic Hurricanna starring Sylvia Hooks, Mark Duplass and Holly Hunter.

Harris and Godfrey will produce The Wives with Jennifer Lawrence, Apple Original Films and A24.
